Touring & Collaboration

Every project that I create is in some way a collaboration with the “creative team” within the company. Whether brainstorming with contributing artists such as, Lisa Morgan, Bryan Nydegger and many others, gathering the creative input of our designers, or responding to the moment to moment inspiration that the dancers provide in rehearsal, I have been graced with the talents of many and am deeply appreciative. In addition, several projects connect with organizations outside of IMPACT Dance.

Here are some of our favorites!

IMPACT Dance Company

and Pathways Hospice

In 2005, Artistic Director, Judy Bejarano met with Nancy Jakobsson, Director of Grief Services at Pathways Hospice in Larimer County, Colorado. Thus began a rich, dynamic relationship between IMPACT and Pathways. We have had the pleasure of working with many amazing artists, therapists and musicians in the participation in and creation of performances, workshops, and conferences.

Paths of Light

“I’ve been a grief counselor for fifteen years and have never experienced anything quite like this…a stunningly creative representation of stories of loss, portrayed beautifully in movement and words.”

Threshold: Dances and Stories of Love and Loss was the first performance created by IMPACT for Pathways. The script and set pieces for this performance were derived from participants in Pathways’s Hospice “Writing Through Grief” and “Following Image” classes and also included poetry by award winning poet, Veronica Patterson. The performance has been presented in multiple venues throughout the region and for the Colorado State Hospice Convention. 2006-2009

Weaving the Arts: Creative Therapies to Address Grief and Loss Bejarano served for two years on the planning committee for this conference presented by Pathways Hospice. She also co-presented, The Body Speaks of Loss, with poet Veronica Patterson. IMPACT Dance performed as the final event of the conference. 2009

Life and Loss: The Stories We Tell Through the Arts – A collaborative performance for Pathways Hospice with IMPACT Dance, 5 poets, a singer-songwriter and a visual artist. 2012

Paths of Light: Dance, Word and Image to Illuminate Our Way, a dance theatre performance in collaboration with Nancy Jakobsson, Poet-Veronica Patterson, Composer-Jonathon Hillman and Hospice Therapists/Visual Artists, Amanda Hillman and Teresa Barrett.  Paths benefitted grief services at Pathways Hospice. 2013

Helping the 100 member Larimer Chorale celebrate the past and look to the future!

IMPACT Dance Company was commissioned to stage, Carl Orff’s, epic Carmina Burana for the opening of Larimer Chorale’s 35th Anniversary season. The successful collaboration played to a full house at the Lincoln Center Performance Hall. Ten years earlier, Artistic Director, Judy Bejarano, had also choreographed this epic work for the Chorale’s 25th Anniversary.
